Fertility Education & Counseling

Planning for a pregnancy is usually a time of excitement.  But when a couple experiences infertility or miscarriage, this normally joyful time can easily become stressful, lonely, and frustrating.  You may find yourselves on a quest for a BABY that seems never-ending.  While there can be no guaranteed solution, St. Croix Birth & Parenting offers couples who struggle with infertility or miscarriage another option: Fertility Education, also called Natural Family Planning.  Fertility education involves learning the physical signs of the wife's times of fertility and infertility so that you have a greater chance to conceive.  We also offer private fertility counseling to give you ample time to ask questions and get answers from a certified instructor.  Fertility Education & Counseling are the first steps that a couple should take when you are struggling to conceive.  Even if a couple has tried many other reproductive technologies, Fertility Education can be useful since you take an active role in learning about your body.  The knowledge you gain can point us to appropriate medical helps tailored to you, ones you may not have tried before, because we seek to isolate the underlying problems that are making it difficult for you to achieve a healthy pregnancy.

Achieving a Healthy Pregnancy

For the couple struggling to conceive, this class gives you the practical knowledge of the wife's signs of fertility so that you can increase your chances of conceiving naturally.  Couples who have had miscarriages will be given tips that can help prevent further losses.  Not the same as a typical Natural Family Planning course, this class has been specifically designed for couples who either struggle with becoming pregnant or with repeat miscarriages.  You will learn:

  • how to tell when she is most fertile and conception is most likely
  • how to prepare your bodies to increase the likelihood of a healthy baby and normal pregnancy; including lifestyle and nutritional changes, and information about botanical and traditional medicines
  • the impact of infertility on your marriage and how to strengthen your marriage
  • signs that she has conceived and what to do next to safeguard your little one
  • answers for your vital questions

As part of the course, you will also receive private follow-up counseling sessions with a certified instructor for as long as you wish after the course who will help you learn how to observe, record, and interpret your signs of fertility.  Your instructor will use the valuable information you observe to help you create a personal course of action.  If necessary, your instructor will also provide referrals to qualified medical professionals who understand Natural Family Planning and can provide further medical assistance.

The Facts Only version lasts about 1-1/2 hours and is available anytime as a Learn at Home class.

Cost: $50 (Required materials fee is $30; no additional fee for follow-up sessions)
